Who is sober is self care?

I’m Sarah.

I help people think differently about recovery, mental health, and the ordinary work of building a meaningful life.

My work is shaped by my own recovery and by my experience working in mental health and addiction treatment.

I believe healing isn’t simply about reducing symptoms—it’s about becoming someone who can remain present for joy, grief, uncertainty, love, and ordinary life.

I live in Savannah, Georgia, where I am a therapist-in-training and completing my Master’s degree in Counseling, specializing in Addiction Studies at Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School.

Before entering clinical work, I worked in communications for the National Drug Early Warning System (NDEWS), funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. My educational background is a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from College of Charleston followed by time in the Grad Student at Large program at University of Chicago exploring Political Theory.

Whether through writing, recovery coaching, or clinical practice, I hope my work helps people become more awake to themselves, more compassionate toward others, and more willing to meet life with intention, courage, and care.
